Have your neighbor grind enough hay and stalks together to last a month, especially if you can grind them right back into a shed with a roof, like where you now have the stalks. As long as it stays dry it will keep a long time. Pile outside it stays decent 3-4 weeks. You can load as needed into any old feeder wagon. Dump corn on top in coldest weather. Even without a mixer wagon it will mix upon exit. Try different things like corn first, middle or top.

You might even see enough savings in controlling intakes that you might buy a grinder yourself. Doesnt have to be brand new.
