Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | I obtained my iPhone 6 through Verizon on a two year plan where the monthly charge included service and purchase of the phone. The two years have now passed. My understanding is that it has a SIM in it that will only work with a genuine Verizon plan. I've heard that Verizon may not want to "release" me even though the phone is paid off. Maybe there is a charge to be released. To work with another carrier or Straight Talk, a different SIM would need to be purchased and installed.
I was thinking that maybe by going to a new phone that I might be able to get into an iPhone 6 with more memory without much added expense. With that thought I wouldn't have to beg or buy off Verizon and the newer phone would be ready to work with Straight Talk. I would also gain in the sense that my old iPhone is getting a bit beat up although still very usable.
Maybe it doesn't work this way, I seem to get conflicting reports and advice from locals when I ask. |
