Central South Dakota | Soy acres may not drop here, they may increase. 50bu spring wheat at $5.00 cash price is only $250/acre gross for us. Right now, we are just under $8.00 cash beans (edit: using our existing storage) at 30bu/acre is $240gross and 40 bu beans is $320 gross. If we could see a .40-.60 futures rally and .40-.60 of basis improvement the bean gross increases around $32/acre on the low end and $48 acre on the high end plus I don't have a $65/acre fertilizer bill tied up in them. Better start praying for a wheat rally too.
