North Dakota | I have the same mentality and that has been my marketing plan for several years. To keep in line with cash flow I forward contract barley, oats, sometimes some spring wheat. Never approaching 50% due to weather concerns. The rest is socked away. Set monthly sell targets based on seasonals and lick my finger and see which way the wind is blowing. Usually cleaning out bin bottoms in the heat of summer when the last of my targeted grain has metered out. Advisory services and marketing firms hate people like me I’m sure. | |
