NE SD | Had a discussion with a customer at work...she was very upset about the stores starting Black Friday sales early so people could not spend Thanksgiving with their family. I tried to remind her that not everyone has family and not everyone has family with which they want to spend time. Sometimes for many, working is a way to keep busy and not think about what some families have. On Thanksgiving day my husband and I spent the day putting in feedlot fence. We have family that we love but everyone was busy with other things. I do have one brother and his wife that I do not care if I ever spend time with them...........I am too old and too emotionally drained for all of the drama. We try to surround ourselves with those that we truly care about---kids, grandkids but we do have to share them with their "other" families. "Family" means those that we care about and care about us...which sometimes has nothing to do with blood. | |
