Do not be so sure no one knows your parents finances.  Parents usually favor one child to know about their finances.  They will remain very quiet about favoring one child over the other.  The problem here is that this will eventually cause a rift.  Either when the parents are still alive or after they die.  Just remember that just because they have not shared their finances with you does not mean they have not shared them with one of your siblings.
