Subject: RE: Do you know

N.W. Illinois
How the Columbia river was formed http://columbiariverimages.com/Regions/Places/missoula_floods.html
"This towering mass of water and ice literally shook the ground as it thundered toward the Pacific Ocean, stripping away hundreds of feet of soil and cutting deep canyons—”coulees”—into the underlying bedrock. With flood speeds approaching 65 miles per hour, the lake would have drained in as little as 48 hours." The amount of water that drained in less than 48 hours was more water then is in Lake Erie and Lake Ontario combined. The water flow exceeded all of the rivers in the world by a factor of 10. This process happened numerous times.
Geologist, J. Harlen Bretz, (Farm boy, grew up on a farm in Michigan) hypothesized the great floods from Glacial Lake Missoula in the early 1900's and faced years of ridicule from other geologist and so called experts. Fortunately his work was proving correct and he did receive the credit he deserved although it took many years. http://www.detectingdesign.com/harlenbretz.html
