did you plant paper bags or bulk bags (or boxes)? (paper bags may have had a misplaced bag in the middle of the pallet)

were the odd plants in a row or sporadically throughout the field? (sporadic would imply an inadvertent blending of a contaminant - in a row implies potentially a single bag error)

did the local operation treat the seed for you? (what product did they treat just before treating yours? what is their process for ensuring no contamination between runs?)

When seed companies test, they may have a bin of 5000 bu (or more) and send a couple of pounds which are supposed to be randomly retrieved from the bin. 400 or fewer of those are tested for GMO. There might be 800 million seeds in that 5000 bu and test results are from a few hundred.

Good seed companies will test again post processing with an even better sample,

Larger companies send seed out to the field naked and treatment occurs down stream. I don't know of anyone who tests or keeps samples after the seed is treated. Contamination can occur downstream.

Typically, a bag of seed will have a "limitation of liability" so that they are not liable for more than what you paid for the seed. Not sure what additional limitation they might have on GMO contamination, but it should be in one of 3 places: tag, bag, or order you signed. If it's not there, they'll have difficulty holding you to some policy you were unaware of.

Growmark FS is a good company and I'm sure they will treat you well. They should be able to supply you with a copy of all of the test results for the lot(s) you planted. It might take a little time to get it from the appropriate people.
