Subject: Planting soybeans way too deep

New castle PA
My bean yields absolutely suck this year. Off about 20% and we had a good growing season. The only variable that changed was planting depth. It's my responsibility, but some operators didn't check seed depth (again my fault) and buried them 2.5-3". Stands suck and it seems the beans never got in gear. Anyone else ever see this as a big yield robber?
