Would have to replant almost every time is one tried to plant beans 2.5” consistently in S IL.

As to the OP, Do you feel it is completely a stand problem? Then yea absolutely too deep can cause that. If the stand was good, would think the beans would have no ill effects of slowed emergence from deep planting.
