In instances like that, I’ll measure out from the centerline (of a row of trees or fence for example), and stick a flag in the ground for reference at each end. That only helps for straight lines. If you can’t straddle the edge of a field, then you could enter a machine offset to match up with the center of your front tire and drive that on the edge of your field.
