Pierce county WI
Are they? You do realize that overall, we are a looong way from being done with harvest. There is very little corn off in Minnesota. If you think that the test plot results that bigcorn put up is representative of the state as a whole, you're wrong. The problem with the USDA is they play a game where they go I'm thinking of a number............ They can and do change it when needed. Part of the reason corn got high in 2010 is because the yields in 2009 were overstated. So our demand has been phenomenal this year, and prices are actually higher than last year. Could it be they are doctoring the numbers because the crop wasn't as big as they said last year? Some of us have been saying this crop isn't as big as the USDA is claiming. Not a disaster, but not that big. And sure enough, they lowered the yield. If you notice, they didn't lower the yield in Minnesota at all yet, and little in Iowa. There isn't much off in either state, so it's going to come down more yet. I think you have some backyarditis like you claim all the crop killers do. You guys have an awesome crop and harvest is early. It's not like that everywhere. The best ground in Minnesota and Iowa is not as good as last year.
