Tuscola, IL | This is the correct answer. Implement guidance is the only surefire way to guarantee sub inch accuracy when going from planting to row crop cultivating. You could easily see 3" of planter drift combined with say 2" of correction error. Now, you're 5" off of where you intended to be. Now, that's just on the first pass. You go back to row crop cultivate and you're 2" off on your correction accuracy - now you're 7" off and everything is still pretty much working within spec. Don't get me wrong, there are guys that row crop cultivate with RTK and have good luck doing it. Typically, they are nudging quite a bit though. Implement drift is too inconsistent and too hard to account for without having a GPS receiver on that implement telling the system where it's at. | |
