I would sell if a family member needed an unpaid medical procedure that was life threatening. But the money to have to say that I have it instead of the farm would not happen.
I was talking to a farmhand several years ago. He said this used to be their farm but they borrowed against it to pay for their mother’s cancer treatment. She passed, they lost the farm and now he’s working on the farm for a wage. That’s a bitter pill.
