I agree even though the hornet is the quintessential "farm gun". We find hornet brass in every hedgrow.

Being headspace from a rim the neck gets resize to reload and case separation is common. The 223 or 222 that headspace off a shoulder give longer brass life.

The 223 between surplus ammo and modern bullets built to make the 223 perform really puts the hornet in the "out dated" collum.

However if cast lead is your plan, all the bullet casters I know prefer the hornet.
