It boils down to two choices.
He could have done nothing (as have the dozen or so past Presidents) and let you spend the rest of your life selling your crop for 25% less than what it is actually worth due to generations of market manipulation by China and others. Had he done that he would be lauded as a great President and a magnificent humanitarian (especially by the crazy rich asians)
Or he could draw a line in the sand and you have one or two poor years until he can force the rest of the world to stop screwing us with tariffs on our products while demanding they get to sell their products with zero tariffs.
China is looking at controlling what prices will be 20 years, 50 years, down the road and the US farmer is looking at Dec 2018.
If that game continues unchecked guess who ends up farming for 1 cent on the dollar.

I agree with you. I just don't like how he goes about things. He could be more diplomatic (but firm), about his approach. Doing things and especially saying things simply to inflame things helps nothing. I voted for him and agree with many of his ideas (it's why I voted his way instead of Clinton- he at least had a plan). However I find the guy completely obnoxious, arrogant, uncouth and morally warped and lacking the ability to accomplish what i know we need as Americans.
