I know a guy who put a security system in at his lake home with very slow internet capability.  He was wanting to see pictures if anyone goes to the place.  Due to speeds it was not good for him to see quality images.  He was going to try to set up a NVR so good quality images will be stored on site in secure area so recordings will have good quality images.  Then if there is a situation that comes up and he knows his images he gets are very poor, there are good records on site to get to.
