Nebraska aka the boondocks | Good point. The oil industry is a bunch of hypocritical hacks. The oil industry has their hands in every government crevice they can. Anyone that thinks oil stands on its own, is simply nuts. However, one should take notes on how big oil has brainwashed into thinking they are the free market.
As an wxample of the many benefits they have had, during the Iran Iraq war during the late 80s, this country parked 47 battle vessels in the Persian gulf to keep the straits open, at what price tag and benefit to them, which came with some unsavory consequences. This one event, cost more than Etol out together, we could go on for weeks citing all the benefits they get.
