Grand Rapids, MI | There are a number of ways to enter sales information in Quickbooks. For my consulting firm, 99% of the time we use the invoicing function. Sometimes this is done after the fact. I agree that if someone wants to pay you on the spot, NEVER say "oh just wait until I send you an invoice" But typically I make an invoice once I get back to the office, then we send them a copy marked "paid" I think they appreciate this for thier records. If you don't need that, you could enter sales made with immediate payment under Customers-->enter sales reciepts. This should track by customer and item, etc. just like invoices. If there is a payment due on a sale, we ALWAYS make an invoice to be able to track recievables. | |
