| We (6 generations of family) have some real estate in the Squaw area and the best advice I can give you is you will get a ticket if you get pulled over are not carrying chains. You don’t need chains with 4X4, but you still must carry them. I got pulled over when I was 19 or 20 in a Jeep with my now wife with obviously deep groove M+S tires and the officer wanted to see the chains and then let me go.
As far as chains there are places that rent chains at-least on the CA side.
There are plenty of front wheel drive compact/mid sized cars running chains Civic, Accord, Focus, etc. the folks that worry me and you have to be cautious of are the high end SUV crowd from the coast. | |
