South West MN | As of today my heifers calves weigh more than my cows calves. Heifers calve a month sooner and in a tighter window (21) days starting may 10. Cows start June first and the last cow had her calf October 10. Supposed to be August 15 but the vet made a oops.
For what it is worth I bought late calving solid mouth cows verses saving back heifers this year. Which works for me because I calve latter than most people in my area. | |
