NEMO | and really enjoy many of your posts, but here in my immediate area that philosophy has so many flaws, I wouldn't know where to start. One of the 1st things that jumps out at me, among many others, is the pounds of calf weaned in a herd of 5-10 year old cows will TOTALLY make up the difference of the higher selling price of the younger cows. Now I admit, that's a 'here' thing, but that's the 1st thing that jumps out at me. 2nd, in that article he puts a pretty high value on the young cows, but gives 5-10 year old cows pound price. I've watched a lot of cows sell the last several years and can tell you that good 5-10 year old cows bring much more than pound price. |
