If you planted it in reverse order, and had a planting season was spread out for a few weeks, you could end up with everything pollinating at the same time, along with water requirements being matched up to similar needs, and everything ready for harvest at the same time. All your risk on all the acres would pretty much be the same.
If you do shortest to longest, then you are maximizing your diversity and minimizing your risk with the growing crop. | |
