South Texas
have been mostly conventional tillage with either paratill or moldboard. last year switched about 5% over to strip till, and this year moving 20% into strip till. We really liked results and saw increase in yield on monitor in side by side test on strip till vs conventional. We had a dry year last year, stuff under mold boarding was our worst. Maybe the strip till shined because we didn't touch the ground but one time. Had some issues on sand hills keeping the fertilizer in place, so we are doing a couple different things this year to fix that. we start stripping in October/November getting ready to plant mid/late February.
