NW Wisconsin | It's a an older model...but I really like the JD 336. Makes a really nice tight, square bale and never misses a knot. Use the plastic twine...easier on the knotter assembly than sisal. The #30 ejector gets a little fussy once in awhile, but thats typical of any thrower/ejector I suppose. I had a NH 273 for years and cant complain, it was a good baler...but the JD makes a much better bale.(important when the bales are going up a 50 ft elevator and decide to tumble back down after 40 feet cuz they're banana shaped) Also, I like the auger system on the JD a lot more than the teeth on the NH. Once the sun started to set, you pretty much had to stop baling or really loosen the tension on the NH, otherwise shear pins would come and go! The JD handles a bigger windrow as well without slowing down to crawl speed. You should be able to get a 336 in pretty good shape in the $3k range. Good luck and happy hunting! | |
