I wouldn't say "You never need to lift". It all depends on what your doing.

When i'm planting into freshly strip tilled strips I'd say 80-90% of the time i'm taking 0-60 pounds away by lifting on my CCS mini pro hopper row units. same would apply to full tillage in front of the planter.

Now when I'm no tilling, yeah, completely different story. always need downforce.

I've got a PP Delta Force system and a lot rocks and have 2 seasons with zero problems. Very impressed. Completely changes you way of looking at planting and tillage practices.
