Agreed, do not run a propane or kerosene heater. The CO2 produced will combine with calcium hydroxide on the surface of fresh concrete to form a weak layer of calcium carbonate that interferes with cement hydration and causes poor finish quality as well as low strength and durability.

Once your concrete hits 500psi strength you are good to go. At 40 degrees that could take upwards of 3 days depending on your mix. So keep it covered. See if the plant will mix with warm or hot water. Do not use air entrained concrete (usually don’t inside but people do strange things sometimes).
