North Central Iowa | Had every other wire out on all 3 concaves for corn last year.
Do some of you run concaves the same for beans. Was thinking I better put wires back in.
How do rasp bars look?? Gonna use them another year, then rebuild rotor, prolly try Gorden Bars. My opinion is the Afx gives me a poor sample and a lot of rotor loss compared to a standard rotor I have in other combine. Read alot of older threads on here today and most comments always end up the standard rotor still hard to beat for corn. Sure seems the specialty and afx has created a great opportunity for aftermarket and Case to sell things to try and do a better job. lol
Last pic is corn laying on chopper pan showing rotor loss. Did a stall kill last year and it was off the cob before it got to chopper, jus couldn't get loss out rotor to be acceptable for me. My standard rotor works great on other combine, jus frustrating with the Afx somewhat I guess. Not really looking forward to see how it goes this year but at least the 2388 cab is nicer than the 1660!
