It wasn't a 10 Hp motor, but we did that exact thing with a motor on a Stirator.  Tied it to the auger, lifted it out of the bin, tied the new one on and put it back it.  Neighbor made a seat to go on the end of their to sit in and paint. Even I am not THAT crazy
