WCIL | We yield checked several fields and try to be as close as possible but they are seldom correct. Don't believe that is "crying wolf" when actual yields turn out different. Have fields with 2" wide cracks and no way any fall tillage will happen until it rains. Some corn died early and beans were wilted for weeks. Knew the crop was fair to average, but didn't expect the better yields we have found. And yes, we don't just windshield scout our fields and say poor crop, we get in them. According to some on here, even the USDA can't give an accurate yield estimate, so how can the "wolf criers" ever guess? It is what the good Lord says it will be. | |
