West central IL		Comments like this are BS. Look at my area's rainfall for '16 and '17. Come look at my yard that hasn't needed mowed since June save for knocking down the weed heads. At least we had timely rains last year. Barely got a rain all summer worth dumping out of the gauge. Fact is, most farmers, including ones who are successful and been at it a LONG time, have been caught off guard by the great yields this year. Best guess is combination of subsoil replenishing rains in early May after timely planting and then the cool August for good grain fill coupled with advances in genetics, cuz these yields wouldn't have happened ten years ago.
