SCIA | In 80% clay/20% silt, the perk rates are so slow that, to have that removal rates necessary to get the hydric curve smooth, we have to run 20' centers. In so doing, if you over size that pipe, the flow rates will be to small to keep the pipe clean.
I will say this, what is right for "here" may not be right for there. Tile systems should be designed for the perk rates of the soil complexes that are being tiled. Some places 4' on 40's work fine, some places 5" on 80's might be OK, but, here, there will be a 50 to 70 BPA difference from over the tile lines to in between the lines. | |
