I understand your frustration
If I were on the highway and had a high fatality mailbox history I would put something substantial for them to work on. Like as in I-beam/concrete etc
Neighbor has the butt 10' of a power pole buried 6' deep and took a chainsaw and carved out a recessed place for his mailbox to fit in the top. No problems getting hit
OH.....NO!NO!NO!. They have to be breakaway.
I would love to sink a 22" piece of bridge I beam in a couple yards of concrete.
Cut a hole for the box, and never have to redo it.
