Subject: A little miffed

SE SD
Last night, around 11pm in the wind and rain, a local "gentleman" veered
of the road and took a ditch ride. He tried to exit the steep grade, but to no avail.

He ended up high centered on an old field approach.
When he entered his grassy abyss, he unfortunately aced out our mailbox.

After the weather subsided, I went to check on the high centered vehicle.
I had no idea who was in the car. I was met with a boisterous voice, exclaiming
in a snarky attitude, "HEY! DONT WORRY, ILL REPLACE YOUR MAILBOX IN THE MORNING."

First off, I had no idea he hit the box and he had failed to flee the scene. He was red handed :)

He was waiting on a buddy to come pull him out.
Mean while the sheriff deputy shows up the provide safety during the extraction.

I went back to the house.

He replaced it this morning. He used the old post that was snapped off.
Installed it tipping, leaning, too short and crooked
I'm a little miffed at his attempt at a correction.
If this guy wasn't such a tool, I would let it slide and just fix it myself.
I have plenty of experience, I think this gets our mail box fatalities up into double digits.

Should I give him a one time "do over" ?
