Northwest Missouri | I recall several years ago we had some kind of deformed calf in an old cow that we couldn't pull. Experienced vet that we still deal with today recommended leaving the calf in, dosed her with bunch of antibiotics and gave her something that he said would help dissolve the calf. Seems like we tried to cut it out but wasn't getting anywhere. Old cows weren't worth much back then, so c section was out of the question and calf was dead anyway. Cow died but not much we could do. Have left pigs in sows before and almost always works out. No doubt its rough on them. | |
