Some things a man has to learn the hard way. I used limestone for 5 years, every year in spring after cleaning barn had to haul more limestone in. Finally poured concrete, had 1/2 the price of concrete in limestone by then.
Built our barns 12' should have been 14' or more.

Correct, over the life of the building, he will pay for the concrete whether he pours it or not.
But with the typical margins on steers, I also understand wanting to do things on the less expensive side.
