I would rather have nothing but markers and total manual steering than just a lightbar alone.

We started four years ago with an AgLeader EZsteer and EZguide. Worked great for spraying and tillage, OK for planting (WITH markers), and not at all for any type of second pass on top of a previous pass made with WAAS autosteer.

My son had this stuff in college, and told me we should skip all the WAAS and Omnistar stuff and go straight to RTK. Three systems later, I figured out he was right.

that said, if you are never going to do any second passes with it, and will always have markers, a WAAS system WITH auto-steer AND markers is possible to plant with (and better than manual steering).

I don't think you will like trying to plant with only a lightbar. You couldn't pay me enough to do it...I would much prefer just using markers, if those were my only choices.
