There is no such thing as "floating" row cleaners, IMHO.

You don't say if you are talking no-till or tilled. In tilled ground, my experience is the row cleaner will always leave a trench to plant in, if the row cleaners are not properly adjusted to keep them from going too deep. treader wheels or not. It is less of a problem in firm no-till soil.

The best answer we have found is using the Cleen-Sweep system of manually controlled air cylinders from Precision. We run 20-40 pounds of lift most times, adjustable from the cab, on-the-go.
