Leesburg, Ohio | When my reply to this post was first written, I think we s till had combo row cleaner/coulters, with rippled coulters.
Now we run only row cleaners on corn planter, and only coulters on the bean planter.
Not sure what difference smooth coulters vs rippled/fluted coulters would make regarding treader wheels.
In any case, the treader wheels might you feel better, but they definitely will NOT keep row cleaners from throwing a trench in loose ground, and they really serve no purpose in firm no-till ground.
We still have narrow treader wheels on the corn planter, not sure why..... | |
