Subject: RE: Floating row clearness, wide treaters wheels trenching

Sw mn
I bought a 2012 JD db44 with Martin floaters and clean sweep. I went with the narrow treader wheels. We are full tillage disk ripper in fall and field cult in the spring. The first few years they trenched bad or they were to high. I was lifting g about 70-80 psi. Then two years ago I put half of the wheels on that were 4" wide so every row has a wide 4" and a narrow 2". It was better but still not running right in my mind. This year I adjusted the max depth again so it was 3" above the bottom of the seed disc. Now they don't trench and float like they should. I can leave a perfect cleaned area without moving any dirt.

My planter didn't have enough clearance to have all wide wheels.
