| If you have 6 kernels throughout the swath, that would still be less than one third of a bushel per acre. Since it is only beneath the straw, you're probably only doing half or one third of that. Sounds pretty good, to me. 900.000 seeds per bushel is a popular value.
If all of the walker system components are in place......curtains, "fishbacks", side belting, etc. as discussed, then there's not much other "adjusting to be done re: the walkers other than to perhaps to reduce travel speed slightly.....although that's not a popular concept these days.
I'd agree that one needs plenty of wind. Do you have a yield monitor? If so, where does it show the loss coming from? I wouldn't be concerned about it, but if YOU are, and if conditions are otherwise good, you might open the chaffer the TINIEST bit, as long as you have an acceptable sample. showboat | |
