I think I saw on the JD site that a max of 12 was recommended. I think I also saw a 1780 factory built 15 row with only one vacuum pump. That would be JD not e-sets. E-sets use less vacuum. I ran 15 rows on my 1780 with one fan with e-sets. My planter has a closed hyd. system with a PTO pump.
12 should be fine
