| In the early 80's we had a 77 f2 gleaner. A neighbor had a similar 4400 jd. both had chevy gas engines. The neighbor rented the farm next door to us and could not get on the farm with out getting stuck. I combined around the mud holes for him. He still could not get any thing done so I combined the whole thing for him. The f2 had a 4 row narrow corn head it would go forward untill it wouldn't. then back out with the rear wheels barly touching the ground. Had to steer with the brakes. I think the difference between the JD and the Gleaner was balance. I always thought the best mudder would be an f2 or 3 with big tires and rwd. PS we now own the farm and it is well tiled. | |
