My dad had a first cousin named Francis. In the 1930's he saved his money all summer one year during high school so he could go to the circus. He went to the circus, had a big time, came home, got sick the next day, and died a couple days later. The doctors were baffled about what caused it, and no one else in town died.

Ever since, any time some one gets the big idea of going to a circus, my older relatives would throw a coniption fit and warn us all about how Francis died.

I always wondered what Francis REALLY did at the circus..........
