NW Iowa. / SW Arizona | I think it's good for all students to at least try to play an instrument. Our school system is voluntary, or at least it was when I was in school and our kids were in school, I don't keep track anymore.
I started playing the baritone in 5th grade. My band instructor wanted a tuba player so convinced me to switch to a tuba when I was in 6th grade, I wish I had stuck with the baritone.
I can honestly say one of the happiest days of my life is when I quit band when I was a sophomore in HS because the band director and I didn't see eye to eye. I have zero regrets quitting. | |
