My son, James is going into 6th grade. Band is a requirement, no other options
My name is James and my parents made me do band, played trumpet. Was ok experience for a few years, even was first chair a while, but unlike my older brother I began to hate it in high school, parents finally let me quit half way through my senior year (giving up trip to Disney world) and I'm thankful for that but I'm still a little bitter I wasted so much time blowing a horn when there was so many things I would have rather been doing.
If he likes it great, but My advice would be if it becomes apparent at some point it isn't his thing, just let it go. |
