I prefer some good questions in this section so it's worth coming here. ;)

Have you ever in your life played a video game with a joystick?

if you have any exprence with any video game, they are dirt simple to fly, 2 joysticks is all you use for basic flight, up/down spin left/right. And forward/backward, crab left/crab right with the other joystick.

That first time is 'scary' because you don't know what to expect and you know the money that is heading up airborn.....

Set it up in an open area, no power lines no trees, when you take off go up, just up, so it is above you, and let go of the sticks. It will hover and take care of itself.

Then You can move it around one direction or the other. Let go and it will stop and hover no worries.

The only odd spot to fly is from zero to 2 feet off the ground. The little eddies from the props buffet it about a bit. You want to get off the ground and get over your head, and then plan from there.

It is terribly easy to fly these things. Be sure it is set in the GPS mode where it watches itself, and when ever you let go of the sticks it stops and hovers.

I have a P3, had a P2, I really don't see much need for the obstacle avoidance, unless you want to get really fancy flying.

No worries.
