SC Wisconsin | Thanks for the narrative satman.
I was pulled in by Planet's early announcements of 1 meter images updated daily when they came on the scene. I have been asking them when they would deliver to the original claims at every opportunity for communication at shows and email. Never got an explanation that made much sense. Your explanation of the challenges of calibration of the bread loaves compared to the big boy satellites gives me a better understanding of what the limiting factors are.
It appears remote sensing by satellites can deliver a lot of things, if the money is in place to do it right. High resolution/accuracy and low cost are are at odds with each other. Many have come and gone in the commercial space. Guess there are good reasons why the long term successes have been government funded birds. | |
