West Texas | Don't know if this will apply to your combine, but on my 7720, I've developed a system to unplug the cylinder much quicker and easier. I plug the dang thing several times a year in grass, so I've had lots of practice. :-)
Raise header.
Drive telehandler (or loader tractor of choice) up to header, facing combine.
Hook chain to one spoke of cylinder pulley, so that when chain is pulled, pulley will rotate backward.
Attach other end to loader.
Carefully retract telehandler boom or back tractor away, in small increments, until the pulley rotates.
Repeat process with the next higher spoke on pulley.
Once pulley has been backed out a few times, your slug should be easier to remove, or power out.
Don't get in a hurry here, or you'll break something or injure somebody. | |
