In their instructions Pertronix tells you if there already is a ballast resistor in the line to leave it in. If not to put one in. I have three older tractors with electronic ignitions, two have the ballast resistors, one doesn't.
your wrong. install the ballast resistor to the coil. the pertronix has to be wired direct to switched 12v.
Is this an electronic ignition on a 3020?
